Welcome
My name is Jane McKelvey. I am a Gestalt psychotherapist, an AATA registered art therapist and Gestalt forest bathing guide in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. All of the healing modalities I practice share the goal of supporting my clients to look at what’s holding them back from living to their fullest potential, then encouraging them to create positive change. For 20 years I have had the honor of creating a safe space for fellow human beings to work through the challenges that show up along the journey of life. Whether you are suffering from depression, experiencing anxiety, struggling through a life transition, working through a life dilemma, I’m here to support you through your unique healing process.
Some of my clients benefit from the creative experience of art therapy. Using various art media, I support them to express their truth, to gain insight into what is and isn’t working in their lives, and to ultimately create the life they want to live, both figuratively and literally. The creative process is a powerful tool for generating positive change. Art therapy is helpful for clients of all ages and an especially safe container for those who have a history of trauma.
Other clients I work with prefer talk therapy. I create a safe space for them to be themselves, and to explore the yearnings of their authentic selves. Through my training at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, I learned how to support clients to experiment with the full range of human embodiment. We hold all of our life experiences in our bodies, and the answers to most of our existential questions come from wisdom we have therein. I support clients to access that wisdom by being fully present in the safety of a healthy therapeutic relationship. My style of therapy is relational and experiential, and I absolutely love my work.
Another modality of support I provide is gestalt forest bathing. It’s basically a slow sensory vacation in the woods. This experience can be stress relieving, awe inducing, and health improving. In Japan and South Korea, Doctors prescribe forest bathing. They call it Shinrin Yoku. In fact, those countries have forests that are specifically designated for this practice which has research proven benefits. For more information go to the gestalt forest bathing page on my site.
Currently, I am not taking new clients, but thank you for visiting my site.
